Museu de Arte do Rio - MAR

The Museu de Arte do Rio - MAR has been collecting art from originally neglected regions of Brazil, an interest which has guided also to the exhibition program of the museum. In this sense, art of parts such as the North or Northeast of the country has been in MAR's curatorial priority. One of the most important efforts of this interest has been the conformation of the Pororoca Collection, a gathering of contemporary art focused on the Amazon.
